Types of braces

Metal Braces: Traditional metal braces are the most common type of braces. Made of high-grade stainless steel, metal braces straighten your teeth using metal brackets and archwires.

Ceramic Braces: Ceramic braces are made of clear materials and are therefore less visible on your teeth than metal braces.

Self ligating Braces (Low friction Braces): Self-ligating braces are considered as the newest technology capable of decreasing the total treatment time usually needed to complete the treatment. These types of braces use an innovative wire system, which is certainly more advanced and flexible option than traditional braces.

Coloured Braces: For fashion lovers, who want to be noticed, colourful braces are an innovative choice for you. They come in a variety of colour options to suit your mood.

Wild Smile Braces: WildSmiles are specially designed brackets that come in a variety of fun shapes including stars, hearts, footballs, flowers, soccer/baseballs, and Super Diamonds. Designed to make your orthodontic experience fun, WildSmiles are a unique alternative to traditional braces.

Lingual Braces: They are custom made fixed braces bonded to the back of the teeth making them invisible to other people, even in close up.

Clear Aligner: Clear aligners are a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable acrylic trays that straighten your teeth like braces.

Braces are a common orthodontic treatment used to straighten teeth and fix bite problems. They consist of metal brackets that are attached to the teeth and connected by wires.

Here’s how braces work:

Placement: First, your orthodontist will clean and dry your teeth, then apply a special glue to attach the brackets. Once the brackets are in place, the orthodontist will thread wires through them.
Adjustments: Over time, you’ll visit your orthodontist regularly to have your braces adjusted. During these appointments, the wires will be tightened to gradually move your teeth into the desired position.
Elastic Bands: Sometimes, elastic bands are used to help correct bite issues. These bands are attached to hooks on the brackets and help to align your upper and lower teeth.
Retainers: After your braces are removed, you’ll likely need to wear a retainer to prevent your teeth from shifting back to their original position.

Braces can fix a variety of dental problems, including crooked teeth, overcrowding, and bite issues. While they may feel uncomfortable at first and require regular adjustments, braces are a reliable way to achieve a straighter, healthier smile. If you’re considering braces, be sure to consult with a qualified orthodontist who can create a personalized treatment plan for you.
