What is a Dental Implant?

A dental implant is a small titanium post that is placed into the jawbone to replace a missing tooth root. It acts as a strong foundation for a dental crown, bridge, or denture, giving you a natural-looking and long-lasting replacement tooth. Dental implants are considered the most reliable long-term solution for missing teeth because they look, feel, and function just like natural teeth.

Dental Implant Procedure – Step by Step

1. Consultation and Examination

The first step is a detailed dental consultation at Anant Dental Clinic in Ahmedabad During this visit we:

● Examine your teeth and gums
● Take dental X-rays or CBCT scans
● Evaluate bone density
● Discuss your treatment plan and cost

This helps determine if you are a good candidate for dental implants.

2. Implant Placement Surgery

This procedure is safe, precise, and usually painless. Dr Pankti Joshi – Prosthodontist will perform your implant surgery with utmost precision and also guide you through the healing phase.

After implant placement, the jawbone gradually bonds with the implant in a process called Osseointegration.

Healing usually takes:
● 3 to 6 months
During this time, the implant becomes strong and stable like a natural tooth root.

3. Crown Placement (Final Tooth)

  • The final step is placing a custom-made dental crown on the implant.
  • This usually takes 3-4 visits in a span of 2 weeks.
  • Once the crown is fixed, your implant works just like a natural tooth.

Before-After Transformation

Most patients recover quickly with minimal discomfort.

With proper care, dental implants can last 15–25 years or even longer.
